Tom Koser

Tom Koser was raised in Almena, WI. He is a 1977 graduate of Barron High School where he was a three-sport athlete, lettering 4 years in football as a quarterback/kicker, 3 years in baseball as a pitcher and 3 years in basketball. He is a graduate of UW-Platteville where he played 2 years of football and baseball. Tom’s contributions to Rice Lake sports have been many. As a play-by-play announcer on WJMC Koser has called over 600 RLHS football, basketball and baseball games over a 15 year period. From 1992-2006 he coached youth football, basketball and baseball with many traveling teams competing at the elite level. Tom has given back to his community in many capacities, as President of Rice Lake’s Chamber of Commerce, Rice Lake Rotary, Board Member of UW-Barron County Foundation, UW-Platteville Foundation Board of Directors and is the current President of “The Rice Lake Celebrity Charity Classic” organization that raises over $100,000 annually for local youth organizations through a major Celebrity Golf Tournament that brings in many former Packers, Vikings, Twins and other celebrities. He was also a leader in raising the community matching funds necessary to complete the current Friess Family Community Campus at Rice Lake High School, completed in 2009. Tom is the President and CEO of the Koser Radio Group, a radio broadcasting company that owns 7 radio signals based in Rice Lake. In addition to leading his company, Tom has been active for nearly 30 years in the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association, serving on the Board of Directors as an officer, and Chairman of the Board. He was inducted into the WI Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame in 2018. Tom and his wife Dianne currently live in Rice Lake.
